Michael D. Collins

Michael D. Collins, 65, passed away at home on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother John and Mary Jo Collins.

He is survived by his partner of 37 years, Joyce Ellis, sister Susan, brother Steve, along with two nephews and two nieces.

Mike, as he was commonly called, was born in Austin, Texas but lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico most of his life. Mike was a fighter; beating both cancer and diabetes. Mike loved sports especially horse racing. His knowledge of owners, trainers and jockeys gained him over 500 winning circle pictures.

Mike was cremated on November 10, 2022 and his ashes will be held by his partner until they can be spread at a designated time and location.

After the first of the year a celebration of life and memorial dinner will be held to allow family and friends the opportunity to get together to remember and celebrate Mike.
