Miguel Valdez

Miguel Angel Melendez Valdez, 59​,​ of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at home.

He was born August 2, 1960, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, México, to Fernando Melendez and Concepcion Amelia Valdez.

He married Cristina Morales December 27, 2006 in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Mr. Valdez worked in the concrete construction field for most of his life. He was intelligent, charismatic and loved making other people laugh.

He is survived by his wife Cristina Melendez of Albuquerque; one son, Luz Miguel Melendez of Colorado; five daughters, Lesley Melendez of Albuquerque, Saira Gurrola and husband Roberto Gurrola of Albuquerque, Nimsy Salas of Albuquerque, Lorena Melendez of Colorado and Norena and husband Russel Hays of Colorado; four brothers and two sisters; and ten grandchildren.

Miguel's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm at Reflections Funerals & Life Celebrations located at 2400 Washington St NE, 87110. Cremation will follow.

Due to the current restrictions put in place by the Governor, the funeral home has a capacity of 30 people inside the funeral home at one time. Masks are required.
