Mila Vicuna De Valdes

Mila Vicuna de Valdes, 81, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mila was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Vicuna Paucar and Celestina Arias Valerio; sister, Gudelia Vicuna; and brother in law, Andrew Alderete.

Mila is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Juan Antonio Valdes; daughter Dolly Wendy Valdes; brothers: Benjamin Vicuna (Rosario Astete), Manuel Vicuna, David Vicuna (Noemi Rodriguez); sisters: Graciela Alderete, and Gladis Briggs; also, Alicia Gallegos and Lucy Gallegos.

Mila was an economist and accountant that obtained her PhD. She loved knitting and reading. She enjoyed giving advice and helping people. When looking for Mila she wasn’t hard to find since she was just a call away and could always be found around her family. She believed that the key to success was higher education.

Mila's Life Celebration will begin with a viewing on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church located at 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, 87110. Rosary will be recited at 10:30am. Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Graveside will follow the mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Vicuna, Manuel Vicuna, David Vicuna, Juan Valdes, Zayden Luna, and Jordan Harmon.

Honorary pallbearer will be Kyle Luna.
