Monique Sonia Martinez-Dominguez, 37, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017, from complications following a severe asthma attack. Monique was born September 2, 1980, in Albuquerque to Robert (Bob) and Rose Martinez. Monique is survived by her husband, Orlando, her sons, Andres, Orlando, and Jace; her mother and step-father, Rose and John; her father and step-mother, Robert and Rita; her mother-in-law, Sandra; her father-in-law and wife, Abel & Brenda; sister and brother-in-law, Yvette and Dave Baggerly; her nephew and niece, Brandon and Tayla Baggerly; her uncles and cousins: Danny & Diana Martinez, Daniel (Andrea), Tanya & Melissa; Jerry & Cecilia Martinez, Jeremy & Alyssa (Phil); and Michael & Rossela Martinez, Nicole, Michael, Matthew, & Monet; and many other loving cousins and friends. Monique was dearly loved by so many and will be missed beyond words.
Monique moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2001 and was a dental assistant. Monique and Orlando married January 7, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After returning to Albuquerque in 2013, and after the birth of Jace, Monique went back to school and was working on her degree to become a dental hygienist. Monique was full of life and she loved making people laugh. She loved cooking for her family. Monique was very creative. She particularly loved making her son's birthday parties very special with elaborate decorations, costumes, and fantastic cakes. Her life evolved around her precious sons. She created the Painted Rocks of Albuquerque Facebook group, demonstrating her creativity and Love of life.
Services will be held Friday, October 20, 2017, at Salazar Mortuary, 400 Third St., SW, Albuquerque, with viewing from 10:00-10:30 and a Celebration of Life from 10:30-11:30. A reception will follow at the American Postal Workers Union Hall, 401 Kinley Ave NE, 87102.
