Orlando Jose Sandoval CMSgt, USAF, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2016 at the age of 85 in the company of his beloved wife and family.
Orlando was born August 23, 1930 in Madrid, NM to his parents Damian and Fidela Sandoval. He was the youngest of 11 children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Damian and Fidela Sandoval, his brothers and sisters Ramon, Refugio, Adelina, Manuel, Leo, and Margaret. His son, Orlando Sandoval, daughter Debra Tudesque and granddaughter Katherine Rose Parra.
Orlando Jose Sandoval is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Rosa Maria Sandoval; sons Michael Sandoval, Chris Parra, Anthony Parra, and Richard Parra; prodigal son Jesus Dominguez; daughter Patsi Faria; brother, Damian Sandoval; sisters Colunia Metzgar, Ramona Baca, and Alice Gonzales; as well as 12 beautiful grandchildren; and 12 amazing great grandchildren.
Orlando graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1949. He was a proud Korea and Vietnam Veteran; having served 35 years in the military. In 1982, he was honorably discharged.
Orlando's grandson Damian Sandoval will be Honorary Pallbearer along with grandsons Nicolas Parra, Luis Parra, and Alejandro Parra. Great-grandsons Bradley Tudesque, Martin Mondragon Jr., Josiah Parra, Orlando Mondragon, and Jonathan Parra, will be Junior Honorary Pallbearers.
Orlando loved his family, valued friendships, lived his life to the fullest, and was a huge fan of Judge Judy.
Services will be held on Friday June 3, 2016. Rosary will be held at 8:00 am followed by Mass at Saint Joseph on the Rio Grande, located at 5901 St Joseph Drive NW, officiating will be Monsignor Lambert Luna. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at the Mondragon residence, 7292 Spruce Mountain Loop, Rio Rancho, NM 87144. Private burial will be held at a later date.
