Otis "J.R." Wayne Eddington Jr.

May 29, 1956 — November 19, 2023

Otis "J.R." Wayne Eddington Jr. was a talkative man, always knew how to strike up a conversation and leave people walking away with a smile. On Sunday November 19, 2023, at the age of 67, his creator decided Otis' conversations were needed elsewhere, beyond earth, at 3:25pm on that gloomy day he passed away surrounded and embraced by his wife, children and loved ones.

Otis is preceded in death by his late parents and siblings; James Smith, Albert Smith, Henry Smith, Tommy Smith, Margie Sims, Carl Ray Eddington, Diana Reynolds, and Juelin "JD" Devon Eddington.

Left to continue his legacy are his wife Francelia Paula and three children; daughter DeAnna Mae, youngest son Andrew Wayne, and stepson Adam, seven grandchildren; Zoe, Tempest, Andrew, Bladen, (twins) Mia & Dezmon Otis, and Ezra; siblings: Reta Gossett of mesquite, Tx, Delois Moore of Dallas, Tx, Rita Adams (Victor) of Mexia, Tx, Yakena Eddington of Dallas, Tx, and brother Robert Smith of Albuquerque, NM, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

On a Tuesday in Texas in 1956 Otis was born to late parents Otis Wayne Eddington, Sr and Mrs. Harvey Mae Johnson. He spent his youth exploring his home state of Texas and many other places before moving to Albuquerque, NM. It was there, he met the love of his life, Paula Victorino. They married and soon after began raising their beautiful family. From that union they welcomed Adam, Andrew, and DeAnna.

He was a jack of many trades, always on the move, always on time, always taking care of the ones he loved. His ultimate passion was cooking. A scientist in his craft, always experimenting with his recipe's. He was a long time 49ers fan who obviously needed to assist them one last time because his team won the day of his passing. He was an explorer, seizing every opportunity to take on a new city and get to know it even if he was only there for a few days. He was a passionate fan of the Blues, Motown, and oldies music and also danced a mean mashed potatoe. He was first to hop on a game of dominos and also the first to answer a call when he was summoned. In his later years of life he and his wife moved back to her home of Acoma Pueblo. It was there that he joined the local McDonalds team and solidified his position as a member of their community. He also enjoyed BBQing and quickly became known in the community for his famous food plates that he delivered or sold at local feast. Everyone who encountered him felt a sense of acceptance, safety, and joy. He undoubtedly left people with a grin from ear to ear or their sides sore from laughing so much with him or both. The memories he left behind have Immortalized him.

Otis will be dearly missed, he will live on forever.
