Patricia Ann Pacheco

April 27, 1936 — January 8, 2017

Patricia Ann Pacheco was born in Ipswich, England, on April 27, 1936 to Doris Marjorie and William Charles Wilkins. She had one sister, Audrey Randall. Pat spent the first 21 years of her life in England. She went to secretarial school to learn typing and shorthand. Then worked for four years in Ipswich.

She met and married Ricardo Pacheco of Riverbank, California on March 13, 1959. He was stationed at Woodbridge Air Force Base, in England. They had six children: Linda A. Pacheco, Richard C. Pacheco (Jennifer Pacheco), Roxanne V. Pacheco (Les McFadden), Sandra L. Pacheco (Eloy Manzanares), William B. Pacheco (Audrey Martinez-Pacheco) and Veronica E. Klein. Pat was a grandmother to eight: Monica Russell, James Bradshaw, Patrick Pacheco, Nathanael Pacheco, Mercedes Pacheco, Adam Martinez, Ashton and Ayden, Stephen Klein, Katrina Klein, and Sarah Klein. She was a great-grandmother to four: Isabella Garcia, Lucas Russell, Jesella Pacheco, and Kingston Pacheco.

She was a member of the local chapter of Daughters of the British Empire for over 40 years. This organization helps to keep alive British traditions and culture. She participated in many teas, fashion shows, and fundraising events hosted by DBE.

Pat was also a member of Hope In The Desert Episcopal Church for the past few years. She enjoyed attending service on a regular basis, and was especially fond of listening to Father Dan's thought-provoking sermons.

Reading historical fiction, knitting and watching British programming on PBS were some of her favorite hobbies. Pat supported many organizations such Arbor Day Society, Sierra Club, Children's Cleft Palate Association, Animal Humane of Albuquerque, etc. She also enjoyed eating Mexican food, especially chicharron burritos and carne adovada. Needless to say, being British, she loved drinking a hot cup of English tea at least three times a day! All of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have picked up this habit.

Pat touched so many lives in ways we never fully knew until now. She was loved and will be missed by many. May she rest in peace. God bless you, Mum!
