On Saturday, February 8, 2025, Patricia L. Jones (Holley), 59, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, went home to see the face of Jesus, after a long term illness.
Patricia was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 23, 1965. She was the seventh, and youngest daughter of Robert Franklin Holley and Sarah Elizabeth Holley (McKenzie).
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as three sisters: Carolyn Sue Rarey (Eugene), Elizabeth Ann Hager (Richard), and Florence Kay Waugh (Teddy).
She is survived by her husband Joseph Jones; four daughters: Stephanie Donovan (Sean), Alexandra Jones, Siobhan Jones (Elias), Rhiannon Jones; five grandsons: Wyatt, Mason, Conrado, Benjamin, José (Shioban); four granddaughters: Gwendolyn, Sarah, Ezri, Nola; sisters: Linda Jane Stevenson (Richard), Gloria Maire Long (Terry), Debra Holley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, her children of choice that she informally adopted but loved as hard and loyally as her own children, as well as her closest friends: Marge Grigsby, Marie Cleveland, Diane McAdams, and Anna Antis.
Patricia and her husband Joseph celebrated 37 years of marriage on November 14, 2024. Anyone to have ever known them said they were the ultimate example of unconditional, true love they had ever witnessed. Their love for one another produced four daughters and nine grandchildren.
Patricia was a self proclaimed Lioness. Queen of her pride, a warrior and fierce protector. She loved her family with every fiber of her being and they were her main priority in life. She started working early in life. She had an Associates degree in written transcription. Her first job was as a receptionist and transcriptionist for the United States Air Force as a civilian, that she was very proud of. She then moved to Ohio Education Association where she worked the remainder of her working years until she officially retired. In 2007 she and most of her immediate family relocated from Ohio to New Mexico where she lived the rest of her life. She enjoyed the views, and historical ties to the native and southwestern culture. She found it easier to find and place roots so far from home than she imagined. All of her grandchildren are New Mexico natives and she was very proud of how the lives of her and her family were able to bloom here like her roses that she loved so much. She had two dogs that she loved to spoil Pippin and Isabeau. Her children teased her that she loved her dogs more than them.
Patricia loved to celebrate her love for the Lord through music. She was limited to worship at home due to her mobility, but she felt that any time and any place was the perfect place to worship especially if she was in the company of her family or friends. She loved to read the Bible to her grandchildren and sing with them. She knew, as does the family she left behind she is without a doubt dancing on streets of gold in heaven free and whole once more.
