Paul Thompson, 71, went home to the Lord on Friday, January 1, 2021.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Selina Thompson; wife Pauline Thompson; sons: Dwayne Thompson, Michael Thompson, Tyrone Sice; brothers: Edmund Thompson, Donald Avery, Robert Avery, and Raymond Avery.
Survivors include his children: Paula Thompson, her daughter Shannon, from Phoenix, AZ., Fredrick L. Thompson, Danielle S. Thompson, her sons: Hendrick and Riott, Jocelyn A. Sice, her daughters: Jessica and Willynette, Sidney L. Sice, her daughter Olivia from Albuquerque, NM; Brother Glenn Avery, his son Albert from Farmington NM; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Paul was born December 28, 1949 in Rehoboth, NM. Paul graduated in 1966 from Gallup High School in Gallup, NM. In 1975 Paul attended the Oklahoma State Technical School for Building Trades. He then attended the University of Arizona. In 1977 he obtained a degree in Alcohol and Drug Counseling. He received certifications as a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Colorado in 1977, New Mexico in 1978, and Arizona in1988. Paul commenced a 28- year career with the City of Albuquerque in 1986. He retired in 2014.
Paul was a world-renowned Native American flute maker. His hobbies included making and playing Native American flutes, golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, bead work, silversmithing, mandala art, and watching sports. Paul was a devoted family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones.
Due to the COVID restrictions Paul's Life Celebration will be private.
