Pete D. Chavez, 83, reunited with his wife in heaven Thursday, February 14, 2019.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Jennie B. Chavez, parents Salvador and Pabla (Estrada) Chavez, and brother Robert Chavez.
He was survived by sons Mike Chavez (Martha), David Chavez, Ruben Chavez (Rita), daughters Judy Candelaria (Joey), Michelle Chavez, sisters Carmen Baros, Yolanda Paulos (Tony), Rosemary Mattilla (Scott) and sister in law Beatrice Chavez, nine grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pete served in the United States Air Force as Master Sargent and a part of the Post Legion 13. He loved to travel, watch a Dallas Cowboys or LA Dodgers game. Besides being a giving, kind and loving person he also loved to dance, usher and greeting people at his parish, but most of all spending time with his family is what he loved most. He treasured every moment with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pete's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at at 6:00 p.m at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1860 Griegos Rd. NW). followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will take place on February 21, 2019 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 9:45 a.m.
