Petra Briones Puente

Petra Briones Puente went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the age of 96.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Francisco Puente of 67 years; parents Simon and Isabel Briones, brothers, sisters and son-in-law Javier Cardenas.

Petra is survived by her children: Rosie Cardenas, Thelma Lerma (Emilio), Annabell Perales (Ricardo), Francisco G. Puente; sister Aurora Segovia (Rey); 14 grandchildren: Cristela Cardenas, Clarissa Argomaniz, Claudia Cardenas, Cordelia Cardenas, Chris Lerma (Wendy), Daniel Lerma (Jen), Carlos Lerma (Ashley), Drina Baxter (Jason), Elisa Harper (Shane), Christiann Perales, Marina Ybanez (Rene), Robert R. Puente, Amanda Puente, Frank I Puente (Johnna); 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Petra was born on April 29, 1926. She was a resident of Laredo, Texas until 2008 when they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to live with her daughter Rosie and son-in-law Javier. Although she will be revered as housewife, mother and grandmother, Petra was an accomplished seamstress and loved playing loteria with family and friends. She also cherished the many years being an Avon representative and her weekly Friday beauty shop appointment.

Petra will be laid to rest with her beloved husband on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, 87501.

The family would like to thank her doctor, nurses, and her caregivers: Gloria and Dario Mendez, Margie Mercure.
