Priscilla graduated from Manual High school in Denver, attended Northern Colorado University and received her degree in education from Western New Mexico University while raising her young children. She was a teacher for the Albuquerque Public Schools for over 40 years which included substitute teaching after retirement.  Her career started at Los Padillas elementary school and then taught Home Economics at Ernie Pyle Mid School. In addition, she taught special education at Valle Vista, Carlos Rey and Sierra Vista. Priscilla had the heart of a teacher and for her it was a true calling. She was known for having great compassion for children and would go beyond the classroom to see that her students especially those having difficulty got the best possible education. She got along with everyone and had a nice way of working with people.  She firmly believed that each child had a gift and always tried to help each student discover theirs. She had a strong passion for the arts and helped organize several events one which included taking students to the Santa Fe Opera where she helped the male students obtain suits for the occasion. The school community of students, parents and colleagues loved and respected her.

Priscilla was most happy when she was with her family and was loved for her spirit and courage. She survived many hardships in her life including sustaining life threating injuries none of which ever dampened her spirit. She was an Iron Butterfly raising 3 children as a single parent and a great grand daughter. She had a gift of storytelling and her family loved hearing her stories of her upbringing as a tom boy, boxing and playing football with the neighborhood boys and her brothers and many other stories of her experiences as well as family history. She had a passion for music playing piano, guitar and singing. Her family in Colorado looked forward to her summer visits which always felt like an adventure when she rolled into town.
