Ray De La Cruz, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
Ray's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Saint Therese Catholic Church. Mass will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. also at Saint Therese Catholic Church followed by a Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Welcome Everyone to Ramon De La Cruz' Celebration. Ray was survived by his wife Stella De La Cruz of 63 years and his daughter Yolanda and Rueben (husband) Ramirez, recently departed son Ray De La Cruz JR & son Martin De La Cruz. Ramon was born in Lubbock,Tx by Pedro & Anita De La Cruz. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Angela & Leonard (husband) Lopez
Mario & Monique (wife) Lucero, Ramon De La Cruz III and departed Jessica De La Cruz; great Grandchildren: Elijah I.Lucero, Ramon De La Cruz IV, Lexi Lucero, Trinity Lucero, Geovanni Lucero
Raveya De La Cruz, Christopher Sena & Mercedes Sena; brothers: Gilbert & Josie (wife) De La Cruz, Ruben & Rita (wife) De La Cruz; and his beloved departed siblings: Prestinia Granados, George Chavez and Sam De La Cruz.
He moved from Lubbock, Tx with his mom and siblings to Albuquerque, NM in 1951. In 1954 he met Stella Gonzales at a Local Dance . They were married 6 months later at St.Therese Little Flower Catholic Church which is archived as the first couple to be married in that Church. Shortly after, their children Yolanda, Ramon (Ray) Jr. and Martin (Marty) were born.
In 1958 Ramon started his 32 year Career at the United States Postal Service where he retired as an Automotive Mechanic in 1990. After retiring from the USPS, he worked at Salazar & Sons Mortuary and Clear Channel Outdoor where he completed another 22 year career. He also managed to find time to work for Killabrew Property Management until present day.
