Rita Vigil Velasquez

Born in Espanola, NM on January 31, 1942 went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe F. Velasquez. She is survived by two sons Robert Serrano and wife Thi Thu Van Nguyen and Anthony Serrano; three daughters Billie Alberti and husband Edwin, Betty Vigil and Delfina Velasquez; step daughter Sally Velasquez; three brothers Eloy Vigil and wife Genara, Lawrence Vigil and Raymon Vigil and wife Evelyn; two sisters Clorinda Vigil and Julia Gonzales and husband Melvin; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend. She will be greatly missed. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in the Frank A. Salazar Chapel at Salazar Mortuary from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW. Burial will follow at the San Jose de Armijo cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymon Vigil, Lawrence Vigil, Pepe Jose Borjas, Dominic Hernandez, Michael Serrano and Jose Torres.
