He was born on April 26, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he attended Albuquerque High School. He established his career working for Chavez Roofing and eventually working for the City of Albuquerque, where he retired.
Ruben's zest for life was infectious, and he could often be found surrounded by friends, a cold beer in hand, sharing stories and laughter. His love for watching golf was only matched by his passion for cruising through Old Town, taking the back roads, and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Ruben was legendary among family and friends for his comfort food that included homemade bread, meatloaf, potatoes and beans. He was generous in many areas, one example was every year during Christmas, he lit up the neighborhood with Luminarias not only for his house but for those neighbors that weren’t able to. He was the kind of neighbor that everyone would want to have.
Above all, Ruben was the best dad. His generous, loving, and selfless nature made him a beacon of support and strength. If you needed him, he was there—always—without hesitation. His presence was a source of stability and reassurance to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His greatest joy came from helping others and taking care of his family.
Ruben's character was the epitome of generosity. He gave freely, not just materially but with his time, his attention, and his heart. He lived his life with a loving spirit, always putting others before himself, and in doing so, he touched countless lives.
As we say farewell to Ruben E. Ramirez, we celebrate a great person whose impact will continue to be felt by those who were fortunate enough to be part of his journey.
