Rufina Martinez

September 2, 1919 — October 31, 2019

Rufina “Ruffie” C. Trujillo Martinez

Rufina was born on September 2, 1919 in El Rito, New Mexico to Juan Isidro and Maria Dolores Trujillo.

She entered her eternal home on Thursday, October 31, 2019.

Rufina’s 100 years on this earth were filled with so many wonderful times with a family she devoted herself to and who were so grateful to have her love. Rufina’s faith sustained her through her days, especially the difficult times in her life. She spent the first 30 years of her life in Northern New Mexico and the last 70 years in Albuquerque. She welcomed all into her home, always made you feel loved and made sure to feed you before you left! Rufina’s devotion to her family will stay with all of us who she loved and cared for. The love and devotion to Our Lord was pure and true. All that are left behind will hold her close to our hearts forever and we will keep her memory alive.

Rufina was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings. In 2000, her husband Guillermo A. Martinez passed away after being married 50 years to Rufina. Rufina’s devoted son, Gary J. Martinez passed away September 20, 2018. Anthony Turrietta her great-grandson also preceded her in death.

Rufina is survived by a family who will always love her and miss her tremendously. Daughter: Mary Turrietta (Ladiz) who cared for her mother for the past 15 years, a niece raised by her, Trindo Jaramillo, daughter-in-law Mary Martinez, grandchildren: Judy (John), John (Donna), Viola (Steve), Jeremy (Nicole), Charissa (Erick), Stephanie (Ryan), Rebecca, Melissa (Veronica) Samantha (DJ), great grandchildren: John Brian (Andrea), Linda, Gayle, Valerie, Amanda, Delaney, Sasha, Pierce, Maria, Gabriel, Sean, Michael, Joey, James, Alice, great great grandchildren: Madelynn and Autumn-Rae. Rufina is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone who visited Rufina, called her and most heartfelt thanks for all your prayers.
