Rutilo "Ruty" Garcia, aged 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Ruty was preceded in death by his father Rutilo Garcia, mother Maria Benitez, and two older brothers: Mario Garcia and Gerardo Garcia.
He is survived by his wife Lorena Garcia, son Joshua Garcia, and daughter Ruth Jade Garcia.
Born on August 11, 1956, in Huitzuco, Guerrero, Ruty was a man whose zest for life was as vibrant as the music he played. He was a beloved figure in his community and a well-known musician whose melodies brought joy to all who heard them.
Ruty's passion for music was paralleled only by his love for the outdoors. An avid golfer, gardener, and hunter, he found solace and excitement in the embrace of nature. His laughter was a frequent and comforting presence on the golf course, in his meticulously cared-for garden, and in the quiet of the wilderness.
Family was the cornerstone of Ruty's life. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and was always eager to travel great distances to be with them. His adoration for guitars was almost as profound as his love for his family, and he often combined these two joys, serenading gatherings with his playing and his ever-present sense of humor.
Those who knew Ruty will remember him as a man who was funny, loving, and courageous. He had an uncanny ability to light up a room and make people laugh, ensuring that every encounter with him left a warm, lasting memory. His spirit and laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Ruty's legacy is one of love, laughter, and music. It is etched in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched with his kindness and his tunes. As we bid farewell to Rutilo Garcia, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man who was truly one of a kind.
