Sherman "Bill" Harviston

Sherman "Bill" Harviston, a treasured soul whose laughter and wisdom touched many, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the age of 91.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Jantz) Harviston.

Bill is survived by three children: Kay (Richard) Stevens, Deborah Montano, Corby (Margie) Harviston; four grandchildren: Devon (Carolyn) Stevens, Kyle (Devin) Reeves, Adrianna (Hugh) Harviston, Andrew (Brittany) Harviston; and three great-grandchildren: Bryce, Brooklyn, and Kolten Harviston.

Born on March 12, 1932, Bill's journey through life was marked by a deep love for the simple pleasures – fishing, family, and the satisfaction of a hard day's work.

Bill was a man who lived for the outdoors, his heart as wide and welcoming as the New Mexico skies under which he spent countless hours waiting for the next big catch. His love for fishing was only matched by his love for his family, and he often combined the two, creating cherished memories on tranquil lakesides with his children by his side. A meat and potatoes man through and through, Bill's eyes would light up at the mere mention of catfish and cornbread – a testament to his simple, yet rich taste in life's offerings.
