Susie G. Martinez

Our beloved Susie Martinez passed peacefully on to a better life, surrounded by her family on the evening of Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

She was born in Louis Lopez and later moved to Albuquerque. She married Phillip Martinez and gave birth to eight children. One of which was taken to heaven at birth.

She is preceded in death by her parents Andres and Aurelia Gonzales, husband Phillip Martinez, baby Martinez, four brothers, two sisters, grandsons Shaun and Conrad and great-great granddaughter Kayla.

She is survived by five daughters; Mary (Freddie), Judy, Angie (Jay), Sandy (Anthony), Becky (Gino), two sons; Gilbert (Gerry), Ernie (Ronda), and brother Wilifido. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.

She loved being outside and working on her yard. Mom looked forward to bingo and the casino. But most of all she loved being surrounded by her family. Memories we will carry on in our heart, including the smell of Christmas posole, the dinner on Good Friday topped by delicious sopa, her delicious red chili and fresh tortillas.

We will miss you terribly but we are left with your legacy of love. We know that your wings of protection will always surround us. Love you!

Susie's Life Celebration Service will begin with a Rosary on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 10:30AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 11:00AM. Interment will take place Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 10:30AM at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
