Sylvia E. Jewett

Sylvia "Nana" Jewett, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the age of 77.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Genevieve Fenwick; husband Louis Jr.; sister Kimberly; brother Bobby and granddaughter Tiffany.

She is survived by her four children: Tammy, John, Cindy, Louis III; sisters: Claudia, Phyllis, Debbie; grandchildren: Kayla, Justin, Crystal, Ashley, Louis IV, Logan, Monique, Roger; also great granddaughter Aleeyah.

Sylvia was born in Lynwood, California in 1944 to Robert and Genevieve Fenwick, and she was one of six children. She began her career as an optician shortly before her marriage to Louis F. Jewett, Jr. 'Bud' on May 21, 1969. She worked as an optician for 15+ years, while also raising three children. Later in life she switched professions to become a florist and owned her own flower shop.  She retired to be a full time Nana at the age of 60.

Sylvia had a lifelong passion for design, which she used to bring joy to countless weddings and other special occasions. Throughout her life she was never to be found far from a paper covered with scribbles of her latest floorplan, garden design, or other creation. Her passion even brought her to modern gaming, in which she spent countless hours playing Minecraft with her grandchildren and hundreds of other gamers around the world who also called her 'Nana'. Sylvia didn't have friends and family, all of her friends WERE her family. She always put others before herself and tried to be a provider for all her family.

Sylvia will be laid to rest on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Sandia Memory Gardens located at 9500 San Pedro Dr. NE, 87113.
