Tom Flagg

November 14, 1949 — March 29, 2016

Tom Flagg died at home on March 29, 2016 after living with cancer for three years.

Tom was a devoted husband, beloved father, cherished son, brother, uncle, a respected and beloved colleague and teacher. A loyal supporter of University of Michigan, he lettered in track as an undergraduate and earned his PhD in Psychology in 1982. He loved teaching. He taught at U of M, Eastern Michigan University, Adrian College, and Central New Mexico Community College. Tom was a loving and caring father to Isaac. One of Tom's proudest moments was when Isaac took his name when Tom adopted him. He was happy to witness the marriage of Isaac to Ivette Rojas just prior to his death. He loved his new granddaughter, Maddy, despite her loud support of Ohio State University.

Survived by his wife, Sandra Vallie, son Isaac Vallie-Flagg, daughter-in-law Ivette Rojas, granddaughter Maddy Bidgood, sister Lu Flagg Foley, mother E. Alma Flagg, mother-in-law Mary Lou Vallie, loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by father J. Thomas Flagg and father-in-law James Vallie.

Visitation Friday, April 1, noon to 2:00; services at 2:00 at Salazar Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, contributions honoring Tom may be made to the Rust Opportunity Scholarship at Central New Mexico Community College or Cancer Support Now in Albuquerque.
