Virginiabelle Fitzgerald

August 1, 1930 — September 18, 2017

Virginiabelle (Dexter) Fitzgerald, born August 1, 1930 in Vallejo, California. Went home to be with Jesus and the open arms of her husband Monday, September 18, 2017.

Virginiabelle was proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years Edward, brother, George Dexter and son in law James Hardie.
She is survived by daughters Jeanabelle Hardie, Debora Wagstaff and husband Robert, Mary Salas and husband Paul; grandsons John Hardie and wife Tressa, Thomas Hardie, Edward Nelson and wife Crystal, Kenneth Nelson and wife Chasidy; granddaughters, Virginia Mimms and husband Matt, Jessicca Ogolla and husband Moses, Megan Garcia and husband Jeremy. Virginiabelle has been blessed with eleven great-grandchildren Tyler and Tyson Hardie, Hunter Hardie, Dylan Robinson, Savannah Humann, Kenneth Franklin, Paxton Nelson, Brennon De Luna, Keegan Nelson, Jace Nelson, Tristan Garcia.

Viriniabelle lived a long blessed life. Her family moved from Vallejo California to Hawaii when she was quite young. Her brother and her were sent to Seattle Washington to live with their uncle Chester Bates during the 2nd world war. Returning to Hawaii after the war ended. Graduated from Punahou High School 1948. Virginiabelle was a concert pianist at the age of twelve to the delight of many. Joined the US Navy in 1950 where she served as a administrative assistant. Married love of her life Edward Fitzgerald in June 1951. Honorably Discharged August 1952 with the birth of their first child. Lived a wonderful life of travel and adventure. Moved to Thousand Oaks, California in 1963 where they lived with their girls. She lived a rich love filled life for 48 years there. Then in November 2011 moved to Rio Rancho New Mexico to be with family. Virginiabelle lived an extraordinary life and passed away at peace with her family by her side.

Viginiabelle's Life Celebration will begin with a graveside service at 11:15 am on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 501 N. Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, N.M.
