Wanda Lee Bond

May 11, 1958 — March 22, 2021

Wanda Lee Bond, resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico died unexpectedly on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 62.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband George Bond; parents Rosemary and Serafin Lewis; grandparents: Selena Perea-Lopez, David Lopez, Patricio Perea; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Wanda is survived by her son Bryan Tapia; sisters: Monica Garcia and her husband John, Jeney Lewis; nieces: Alyce Tenorio and her husband Andres, Krista Garcia, Jasmine Cantreres- Lewis; nephew Julian Murrieta and wife Joshlyn; great nephews: Estevan Tenorio, Juaquin Murrieta, Juliano Murrieta; and numerous family members and loving friends.

She earned her Associates in Radiology and Mammography from the University of Albuquerque, Class of 1972. Wanda dedicated over 40 years of her life at Presbyterian, helping patients, teaching students, and assisting physicians.

Wanda had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life and made many friends along the way.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, she had a passion for music, art, and enjoying Albuquerque’s entertaining night life. Wanda was life-long Marylin Monroe fan and lived her life by this quote “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it is better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring”

Wanda's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102 at 10:00 am. Service will take place at 10:30 am. Wanda will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery following the Service. Due to capacity limits the Rosary, Service, and Graveside will all be live-streamed on Salazar Mortuary's Facebook page. You do NOT need to have a Facebook account to view the live-stream. Please click the links below at the scheduled times.

Due to the restrictions set in place by the Governor masks are MANDATORY to attend Wanda's Rosary, Service, and Graveside. Salazar Mortuary has a capacity of 10 people allowed inside the funeral home at one time. Mount Calvary is allowed to have 10 people at the graveside and asks that all attendees stand back in socially distant groups of 10.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryan Tapia, John Garcia, Julian Murrieta, and Andres Tenorio.
