After suffering a cardiac arrest on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, William Robert Clark, 56, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
In keeping with his larger-than-life personality, people knew him by different nicknames: Bobby, Bob, Billy Bob, Billy or BB.
Bob is predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Howard and Ada Manny; maternal uncle Howard John Manny; and nephew Levi Sanchez-Henry.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years Angelica; their sons: W. Erick, Nicholas, and Christopher; mother Connie Szeluga; stepfather Robert Szeluga; father William Charles Clark; brother Bryan Edward Clark; sister-in-law Ramona Clark; step-brother Dustin Szeluga and wife Nikki, their children: Caleb and Adeline; great-uncle Gary; aunts: Renee and Marcia; uncles: Don and Wayne; cousins: Jay, Melissa, and Kimberly and their families; nieces and nephews who loved him very much: Jordan Christensen, Daniel G. Sanchez, Victoria L. Sanchez who was also his goddaughter, Matthew D. Sanchez, Sebastian Sanchez, and Sofia Sanchez; in-laws: Luis and M. Teresa Sanchez, Griselda Sanchez, Gerardo and Cathy Sanchez, and Alfonso and Lily Sanchez.
Bob was surrounded by so many friends that became part of his extended family. Although they are too numerous to name here individually, please know that he loved you all so much. Thank you for always supporting and loving him.
As his friends and family know, Bob was a born salesman, a people person, and a kind hearted, generous man. After years of excelling in sales in call centers, as an event coordinator and promoter, and organizing adult recreational sports leagues and tournaments, he started his own company New Mexico Promotions Company (NMPC). Over the last 20+ years, Bob worked tirelessly to publicize and expand softball, bowling, basketball, and sand volleyball in Colorado and New Mexico, especially in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. He also organized numerous fundraisers for local homeless shelters, cancer centers, Paws and Stripes, Toys for Tots, and for many families who were struggling or had suffered a loss.
Family, friends, and sports were central to Bob’s life. As a life-long Oklahoma Sooners and Pittsburg Steelers fan, football reigned supreme in his life, but he loved all sports. He began running Fantasy Sports leagues in the late 1980s, long before they became a national craze. For years, his passion was softball—everyone remembers how proud he was of his softball team, the Clark Star Warriors, who made it to E World West Tournament in Aurora, Colorado, in 2007. He worked for the Amateur Softball Association and served as state director for the National Softball Association for several years. He also hosted a local sports radio show called “The Armchair Quarterback.” Bowling also was an important part of Bob’s life for many years. In addition to organizing many bowling tournaments and leagues in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and Monte Vista, CO, he played in numerous leagues and tournaments, winning several tournaments and achieving four 200+ games and a 300 game in Nine Pin No Tap.
Bob was a huge animal lover and rescued and adopted many dogs over his lifetime. His “babies” Sanka and Molly miss him very much. Bob worked tirelessly, day and night, to make sure that he provided for his family. His family and friends will miss his crazy, over-the-top ideas that he somehow made work, his positive outlook, and his booming voice—our house is way too quiet without him. We miss you, Bob, but we know you are up in heaven, organizing some event (but hopefully not placing bets!), making a mess, and driving the angels crazy.
