Yasmin C. Gonzales

Yasmin C. Gonzales, 69, went to be with our Lord on Thursday January 27, 2022.

She was predeceased by her parents Benito and Theresa Griego; brother David Griego; sister Cecilia Rivera and niece Daniela A Griego.

Yasmin is survived by her sons: Demetrio Gonzales and wife Misti, Dominic Griego and wife Ciria; daughter Samantha Gonzales-Smith and husband Ryan; brothers: Robert Griego, Patrick Griego, Louis Griego; 10 grandchildren: Esperanza Arellano and fiancé Aaron Salas, Benito Gonzales, Demetrio Gonzales, Jr., Estevan Gabaldon, Elena Gonzales, Ariana Griego, Cristiano Griego, Sebastián Griego, Alejandro Griego, Julian Griego; also 9 nieces and nephews and their spouses; and 15 great nieces and nephews.

Yasmin volunteered for San Felipe School while her children attended. She helped with accounting, PTA, school board, and starting the first annual Turkey Bingo at the school and the first funnel cake booth at the annual San Felipe Fiestas. Professionally, she was an active member with BOMA prior to retiring. She was a mom, grandmother, and loving aunt who lived by her motto “children always come first”.  She made sure she wished everyone a “Happy Birthday” on their special day. She was an avid book reader and enjoyed going to the movies. But most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She made everyone laugh until her final moments. Her life’s legacy will be remembered and treasured by all that had the honor of knowing her.

Yasmin's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 9:30 am at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church located at 2005 N Plaza St NW, 87104. Mass will begin at 10:00 am. Yasmin will be laid to rest at 12:00 pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102. Reception will follow at Salazar Hall at San Jose de Los Duranes located at 2110 Los Luceros Rd NW, 87104.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Romero, Javed Baloch, Damon Martinez, and Mark Stetzer, Jr.
