Yvette M. Begay

August 25, 1965 — August 10, 2021

Yvette M. Begay, 56, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her father Timothy Begay, mother Lorraine Ulibarri, and nephew Jeremy Salazar.

Yvette was a beloved and strong mother to her son Paul Carriaga (Jacque), and daughters: Sharon Baca, Nadine Carriaga (Ramon); loving, crazy grandma-hita to four grandchildren: Dezi Rose, Jacobi Paul, Mason James, Jasper Allen; she was the rock to brothers: Marty Begay, Anthony "Tono" Begay and sister Maxine Salazar; auntie “vette” to: JJ, TJ, Natasha, Chris, and Ryan; niece to aunts: Evelyn, Mona, Gordy, Yvonne, and Anna, and cousin to too many to name.

She was born August 25, 1965 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Yvette was a mother, sister, cousin, and aunt to all who wanted the love she had to give. People were drawn to her kindness. She had a “heart of gold”, a fighting spirit, and was so “down to earth”. She gave and loved unjudgementally and unconditionally. She was the life of the party and loved music. She loved to cook and was exceptional at it!

We will miss everything about her. This is not goodbye, this is “see you later”. Love you mom.
